The Alberta Government has fully approved and funded construction of the new Kindergarten to Grade 6 school in Hawks Ridge, which will operate as part of Edmonton Public Schools. This marks the final major step before building begins, following the design funding approval announced previously.
The school will be located within Hawks Ridge, on Hawks Ridge Blvd NW, in northwest Edmonton.
What This Means
Construction funding covers what design funding could not: the actual building of the school. With this approval in place, the project moves from architectural planning into active construction, bringing a new school directly into the Hawks Ridge community. For more on how school projects move through each funding stage, see the province’s funding stages overview.
The school will be part of Edmonton Public Schools and, upon completion, is planned to accommodate up to 650 students in Kindergarten through Grade 6. An opening date has not yet been determined.
A Milestone for Hawks Ridge
A school built within the community is one of the most meaningful additions a growing neighbourhood can have. For families in Hawks Ridge, it means a future where kids can walk to school, where new friendships form close to home and where the community continues to take shape around the people living in it.
